CPR and First Aid Classes


CPR and First Aid classes are offered free to residents of the Griffin Fire District. Classes are held on a "as needed" basis, but we try to offer them quarterly (4 times a year), usually on a Monday and following Wednesday night class. Classes begin promptly at 6pm. Class size limit is 12 persons per class.

Cost (covers cost of certification and paper work sent to our sponor and American Heart Association)
Those who live within our district                          $3
Those who DO NOT live within our district         $25
 


CPR
Upon completion of this course users will be able to perform CPR on Adults, children (1yr - 8yrs), and infants.
All the topics will be covered from airway, breathing, and circulation, to compression rate and depth, and the ratio or compressions to breaths. You will be both watching a video, learning from an instructor, and demonstrating on a manikin, so dress accordingly. A great certification to have for babysitters and in the workplace.

American Heart Association (AHA) certified card, valid for 2 years


First Aid
Upon completion of this course users will be able to perform basic first aid to those in need. Topics to be taught range from treatment of cuts and bleeding to shock and allergic reactions. You will both watch a video, learn from an instructor, and demonstrate some of the skills, so dress accordingly. A great certification to have for babysitters and in the workplace.
