Our volunteer Florian team provides us with rehab assistance while we are out on calls, supports us during drills, aids our members during those long nights during storm, helps out in the office and assists with various other tasks around the station and in our dealings with the public.
Volunteers will assist with rehabilitation to our responders either at the headquarters or out on scene during our fire ground procedures.
 
Mission:
The mission of the Volunteer Auxiliary program is to support the firefighters at fires and support the local community.
 
Vision:
The vision of the volunteer Auxiliary program will be a 24-hour a day and 365 days a year program. These volunteers will be dedicated and professional members of Griffin Fire Department.

Minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • US citizen
  • Be 16 years or older

 

Responsibilities

  1. Refreshments and food in fires lasting 3 hours or more, on scene
  2.  
    Responsible to get Support 13 to the fire scene
  3. Refreshments and food available at the station for fires lasting less than 3 hours
  4. Assit with the needy families program
  5. Assist with annual picnic
  6. Assist with annual recofnition program
  7. Assist with emergencies in the community when the Red Cross is not available
  8. Take care of member's children at the station during special emergencies of fire department members
  9. Other assignments as assigned by a Chief Officer
