Volunteer Duties
Volunteer Duty Shift Program
Pull one 12-hour shift per week, four per month.
The 12-hour shift will be from:
1800 hrs - 0600 hrs Monday - Tuesday
1800 hrs - 0600 hrs Tuesday - Wednesday
1800 hrs - 0600 hrs Wednesday - Thursday
1800 hrs - 0600 hrs Thursday - Friday
While pulling your shift, you must make all the calls.
If you cannot make the shift that you signed up for, you must get someone else to replace you. Your replacement must be at the same certification level as you, or higher.
If you cannot pull your monthly shift, please notify your assigned officer.
There will be a maximum of three personnel per 24-hour shift.
All personnel must present themselves in a professional manner.
Along with being able to pull shift all volunteers are required to meet both of the following:
Attend 75% of our Fire/ EMS drills (Held each Tuesday night at 1900 hrs)
Attend 25% of all "calls" for the month
You will be paid a stipend of $10.00 for every call and drill that you attend. You will be paid once a quarter and this pay is subject to federal withholding taxes. $30.00 ($10.00/ month) will be withheld from your quarterly payment to pay for your dues to the Griffin Fire Fighter's Association.
