Casey Black was appointed as a Fire Commissioner in April of 2021. Casey was raised in the Steamboat Island community and was a previous resident Lieutenant EMT with Griffin Fire Department for nine years.
Commissioner Black has worked in the timber industry for over 23 years for a variety of companies. He currently is the Olympia Yard and Export Sales Manager for Weyerhaeuser Company where he oversees the sale of forest products to international customers around the globe. He is responsible for the overall safety, financial performance, shipping logistics, and people development of the international sales team at Weyerhaeuser.
Casey attended Evergreen State College. He also serves on the board of the Hands-on Children’s Museum, current vice president of the Pacific Logging Congress and past Chairman of the Olympic Logging Conference. He and his wife Amber enjoy spending time traveling and boating in the Puget Sound.
